- Hit (H): If a digit in your guess is correct BUT in the wrong position within the secret number, it's a Hit! Hits are tracked but don't directly score runs in this simplified version.
- Out (O): If a digit in your guess is incorrect (meaning it's not present anywhere in the secret number), it's an Out!
For example, if the secret number is 456 and you guess 485:
- The first digit,
4, is correct and in the correct position. That's 1 HR. - The second digit,
8, is not in the secret number. That's 1 O. - The third digit,
5, is in the secret number (the second position), but it's in the wrong position in your guess. That's 1 H.
Your result for that guess would be: 1 HR, 1 H, 1 O.
Game End
The game continues with subsequent guesses (innings) until the player accumulates a total of three Outs. Once three Outs are recorded, the game is over, and your final score (total Home Runs and Hits) is tallied.
