Arknights Headhunting Planner
Estimate your chances and plan your pulls for your favorite operators!
Welcome, Doctor! Understanding Your Pulls in Arknights
In the world of Terra, strategic planning is key not just on the battlefield but also in your recruitment efforts. Arknights, like many gacha games, relies on a "pull" or "headhunting" system to acquire new operators. While the thrill of the pull is undeniable, going in blind can lead to disappointment and wasted resources. This is where an Arknights pull calculator becomes your invaluable ally.
Understanding your resources, the game's gacha mechanics, and probabilistic outcomes can significantly improve your chances of getting those coveted 6-star operators. Our calculator aims to demystify the process, helping you make informed decisions about when and how to spend your hard-earned Orundum and Headhunting Permits.
How the Arknights Pull Calculator Works
Our Arknights Headhunting Planner is designed to give you an estimate of your pulling power and the potential outcomes based on the game's known gacha rates and pity system. It's a tool for foresight, allowing you to gauge how many pulls you can make and what your odds look like for acquiring your desired 6-star operators.
Input Fields Explained
- Current Orundum: This is your primary in-game currency for headhunting. Every 600 Orundum converts to one pull.
- Current Headhunting Permits: These are direct tickets for headhunting, with one permit equating to one pull. They are often more valuable as they save you Orundum.
- Pulls since last 6-star (Current Pity): Arknights has a "pity" system. After 50 pulls without a 6-star, the rate of obtaining a 6-star increases. Inputting your current pity helps the calculator accurately reflect your current pull rate.
- Desired Number of 6-star Operators: Tell the calculator how many 6-stars you're aiming for. This helps estimate the total pulls needed.
The Calculation Behind the Scenes
The calculator first aggregates your total available pulls by converting Orundum (dividing by 600) and adding Headhunting Permits. It then uses a probabilistic model, incorporating the Arknights 6-star pity system:
- Base 6-star rate: 2%
- Soft Pity: After 50 pulls without a 6-star, the rate increases by 2% for each subsequent pull (e.g., 51st pull is 4%, 52nd is 6%, etc.).
- Hard Pity: At 100 pulls, a 6-star operator is guaranteed if one hasn't been pulled yet.
It estimates the average number of pulls required to hit your desired number of 6-stars, factoring in your current pity and the increasing rates.
Mastering the Gacha: Arknights Pull Rates and Pity
Understanding the core mechanics of Arknights' gacha is crucial for any Doctor. Unlike some other games, Arknights provides a transparent and relatively generous pity system for its highest rarity operators.
6-star Operator Rates
The base chance of pulling a 6-star operator is 2%. This means, on average, you'd expect one 6-star every 50 pulls. However, the pity system significantly alters this:
- Pulls 1-50: 2% chance per pull for a 6-star.
- Pulls 51-99: The chance increases by 2% for each pull. So, pull 51 has a 4% chance, pull 52 has a 6% chance, and so on. By pull 99, you have a 100% chance (2% base + 49 * 2% pity increase).
- Pull 100: If you reach this point without a 6-star, one is guaranteed.
This progressive pity ensures that you will eventually get a 6-star, making long stretches without one less punishing than in games without such a system. The average number of pulls for a 6-star, thanks to pity, is often cited around 35-40 pulls, not 50.
5-star Operator Rates
The base chance for a 5-star operator is 8%. There is no specific pity system for 5-stars; their rate remains constant.
4-star and Below
The remaining percentage is distributed among 4-star and lower rarity operators, ensuring you always get an operator with each pull.
Strategies for Effective Pulling
Beyond knowing the rates, a smart pulling strategy can save you resources and heartache:
- Save for Specific Operators: Don't pull on every banner. Identify operators you truly need or desire and save your Orundum/permits for their rate-up banners.
- Understand Banner Types: Limited banners feature exclusive operators who may not return for a long time. Standard banners have a rotating pool of regular operators. Prioritize based on your roster needs and the exclusivity of the operator.
- Set a Budget: Both in-game (how many pulls you're willing to commit) and if you're a spender, a real-world budget. Stick to it.
- Know When to Stop: If you get your desired operator early, consider saving for the next banner. Don't chase duplicates unless you have a specific plan for them.
- Leverage Free Pulls: Always use any free daily or weekly headhunting tickets you receive.
Disclaimer and Enjoying Arknights Responsibly
While this calculator provides valuable estimates, remember that gacha is inherently probabilistic. Results are not guaranteed, and actual outcomes can vary significantly due to randomness. The calculator offers an average expectation, not a certainty.
Arknights is a fantastic game, and the joy of collecting operators is a big part of it. However, always play responsibly. Don't spend more than you can afford, and remember that even without every top-tier operator, strategic gameplay can overcome many challenges. May your pulls be blessed, Doctor!
