Forge of Empires Arc Calculator: Optimize Your FP Contributions

Understanding The Arc in Forge of Empires

The Arc is arguably the most powerful Great Building (GB) in Forge of Empires. At its core, it's a monumental structure that significantly boosts your Guild Power and, more importantly for individual players, amplifies the rewards you receive for contributing Forge Points (FPs) to other players' Great Buildings. An Arc at a high level transforms your FP contributions from a selfless act into a highly profitable investment strategy.

Why Every Player Needs an Arc (or Access to One)

For any serious Forge of Empires player, especially those looking to grow quickly and efficiently, the Arc is indispensable. Here’s why:

  • Massive FP Returns: The primary benefit is the bonus FPs you receive when contributing to other players' GBs. A high-level Arc (typically level 80+) can return 1.9 times, 1.92 times, or even more of the FPs you spend, effectively making your contributions profitable.
  • Medal Generation: Alongside FPs, you also receive a substantial amount of Medals, crucial for expanding your city.
  • Blueprint Acquisition: Contributing to GBs is a fantastic way to earn blueprints for other Great Buildings you wish to construct or level up.
  • Guild Power: The Arc provides significant Guild Power, benefiting your entire guild in Guild Expeditions and Guild Battlegrounds.

Navigating Contribution Threads: The Role of the Calculator

In Forge of Empires, players often organize "contribution threads" or "sniping threads" where GB owners offer their buildings for others to contribute FPs, usually at a guaranteed return multiplier (e.g., 1.9x, 1.92x). This calculator helps you determine the precise amount of FPs to put on each spot to achieve that desired return.

How Our Arc Calculator Works

Our Forge of Empires Arc Calculator simplifies the complex math behind securing spots on Great Buildings. It takes two key pieces of information:

  1. Total FPs for GB Level: This is the full cost required to complete the next level of the Great Building you are contributing to. You can find this by clicking on the GB and looking at the progress bar.
  2. Desired Multiplier: This is the agreed-upon return rate (e.g., 1.9x, 1.92x) that the GB owner is offering for contributions.

Based on these inputs, the calculator determines the exact number of FPs you need to contribute for each of the five reward spots (1st to 5th place) to ensure you receive your FPs back at the specified multiplier. It also calculates the remaining FPs the owner needs to contribute to finish the level, assuming all spots are taken by contributors.

Formulas at a Glance

The core logic relies on the fixed reward percentages for each contribution spot:

  • 1st Place Reward: 20% of the GB's total level cost
  • 2nd Place Reward: 10% of the GB's total level cost
  • 3rd Place Reward: 5% of the GB's total level cost
  • 4th Place Reward: 4% of the GB's total level cost
  • 5th Place Reward: 3% of the GB's total level cost

To calculate the FPs needed for a spot at a certain multiplier, we use the formula:

FPs_to_Contribute = Math.ceil(Reward_FPs_for_Spot / Desired_Multiplier)

For example, if a GB level costs 1000 FPs, the 1st place reward is 200 FPs. If you want a 1.9x return, you'd contribute Math.ceil(200 / 1.9) = 106 FPs. We use Math.ceil because FPs must be whole numbers, and rounding up ensures you secure the spot and the desired return.

The owner's remaining FPs are simply the total cost minus the sum of all FPs contributed by players for the five spots.

Strategies for Using Your Arc Calculator

Whether you're a GB owner or a contributor, this calculator is a powerful tool:

For Contributors (Snipers & Thread Participants)

  • Precision Contributions: Never overpay or underpay again. Know the exact FPs required to secure a spot at the desired multiplier.
  • Efficient FP Spending: Maximize your net FP gain by contributing the minimum necessary FPs for the maximum return.
  • Spot Sniping: Quickly identify undervalued spots on open GBs that can yield a profit, even if they're not explicitly part of a thread.

For GB Owners

  • Setting Up Threads: Use the calculator to determine how many FPs players need to contribute for each spot at your chosen multiplier (e.g., 1.9x or 1.92x). This helps you clearly communicate the costs to your guild or friends.
  • Managing Your Own Cost: Understand exactly how much you'll need to contribute yourself after all spots are filled, allowing for better FP management.
  • Ensuring Fair Play: By providing clear, calculated numbers, you foster trust and efficiency within your contribution circles.

Maximizing Your Forge Point Economy

The Arc is the cornerstone of a strong FP economy. By consistently contributing to GBs with a high-level Arc, you can generate a continuous stream of FPs, Medals, and Blueprints. Use this calculator as part of your daily FoE routine to:

  • Level up your own Great Buildings faster.
  • Fund your research tree more effectively.
  • Expand your city with more expansions.
  • Support your guild's growth and success.
