How Your Score is Calculated (Simplified for this Calculator)
The College Board uses a complex process to convert raw scores into scaled AP scores (1-5). Our calculator provides a simplified estimation based on common weighting principles:
- Multiple Choice (MC) Score: Your total correct answers out of approximately 70 questions are scaled to contribute 50% of your composite score.
- Free Response (FR) Score: The combined scores from your speaking and writing tasks (each scored out of 6 points) are scaled to contribute the other 50% of your composite score.
- Composite Score: These scaled scores are added together to form a total composite score.
